Jersey Shore stars Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino implore people to help rebuild the east coast.

America’s Tri-state area was devastated on October 29 by Hurricane Sandy. Cities were flooded, millions of people went without power and family homes were destroyed.

The Seaside Heights boardwalk has been devastated, with some carnival rides floating in the Atlantic Ocean.

As part of MTV’s Restore the Shore TV charity special airing Thursday, Vinny asks viewers to lend a hand.

"It's not about a show, it's not about an amusement park, it's not about a roller coaster, it's not about a bar and drinking and having a good time and a party," Vinny said.

"This town is about families, it's about little kids, teenagers, people, business owners, jobs, that all lost everything. Please help them."

Pauly D is equally saddened by the destruction and wants to witness communities thriving again.

"If you've seen the Jersey Shore, you've seen Seaside Heights in action," Pauly D said. "But that was up until a few weeks ago. The people that live and work here need your help and cannot do this alone. Please do what you can to help restore the heart of the Jersey Shore."
