Brooke Mueller denies a soot-like substance pictured on her hands on Friday night was caused from using a crack pipe.

The 35-year-old socialite and mother of Charlie Sheen’s three-year-old twin sons was rushed to the emergency room on Friday morning after reportedly suffering a drug overdose.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department told TMZ she was taken by ambulance from her home in the San Fernando Valley to a local hospital just before noon.

Brooke has a history of substance abuse.

Reports she had overdosed were fuelled on Friday evening after she was released from hospital.

According to the website, she was pictured in Los Angeles with a “black, soot-like substance” covering her hands.

TMZ speculated the markings were from a crack pipe but Brooke denies she was using drugs.

She claims she has been making jewellery and the markings were caused by black spray paint she uses on her designs.

Brooke’s denial follows reports her loved ones are “deeply concerned” for her welfare and concerned she has been abusing narcotics for several weeks.

Brooke claims she has been sober for months. Reports suggest she has been to rehab 15 times.

She was arrested in Aspen, Colorado last December and charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanour assault. She also spent 12 weeks in the famous Cirque Lodge facility in Sundance, Utah to battle her drug and alcohol addiction earlier this year.
