(Cover) - EN Movies - Jessica Biel is reportedly feeling frustrated after losing out on a series of movie roles.
The actress, who married Justin Timberlake in October, is believed to be tired of appearing in romantic comedies. Jessica auditioned for the role of Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises, but Anne Hathaway beat her to it. It has also been claimed Anne trumped Jessica by playing Fantine in the new musical movie Les Misérables.
“Jessica was fuming when she heard she didn’t get the role of Catwoman,” an insider told New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l column. “She really thought she was going to get it, but when Christopher Nolan handed the role to Hathaway, she was devastated.”
Jessica is said to have set her sights on starring alongside Hugh Jackman in the hotly-anticipated movie Wolverine, but that didn’t work out either.
“She didn’t get the part, but she came pretty close,” claims a Hollywood insider.
Jessica has garnered lukewarm reviews for her performance in Playing for Keeps, in which she plays Gerard Butler’s love interest. It has been suggested Jessica’s team are failing to choose the right roles for her.
“There is nothing extraordinary about her, like Carey Mulligan or even Amy Adams, so she’s not on the studios’ radar unless they’re love-interest roles,” a source claimed. “I don’t know why she keeps doing those bad romantic comedies. They need to get her a meaty guest-starring role on a hit TV show.”
An unnamed agent apparently told the publication that Jessica should challenge herself by working on a couple of independent films.
Jessica recently revealed that she is considering taking a break from acting, fuelling rumours she is trying for a baby with Justin.
She also has two films tentatively scheduled for release next year: Emanuel and the Truth about Fishes and The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.
