Brooke Mueller has reportedly left her twin sons with Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards while she is in rehab.
Brooke shares three-year-old boys Bob and Max with the actor.
Sources close to the former Two and a Half Men star tell TMZ he is busy working on new US television show Anger Management and doesn’t have time to be their primary caregiver.
Brooke is believed to have turned to Denise for help while she seeks treatment for Adderall abuse.
The former Bond girl shares two daughters with Charlie and is said to have “happily obliged”.
Sources tell the website Denise will care for the boys for “an indefinite period of time”.
TMZ reports this marks Brooke’s 19th trip to rehab.
The 35-year-old socialite was rushed to the emergency room earlier this month after reportedly suffering a drug overdose.
Brooke’s attorney, Yale Galanter, told the website she was “uncomfortable with the way Adderall was making her behave”.
The pills are used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
"Brooke continues her lifelong battle with drug addiction by taking these steps herself to prevent a further drug relapse,” her attorney explained.
Brooke was arrested in Aspen, Colorado last December and charged with felony drug possession and misdemeanour assault. She spent 12 weeks in the famous Cirque Lodge facility in Sundance, Utah, to battle her drug and alcohol addiction earlier this year.
Brooke and Charlie’s three-year marriage ended in May 2011.
He was married to Denise from June 2002 to March 2005.
He also has an adult daughter with his high school girlfriend in addition to his four children with the women.
