Katie Holmes ‘spends $48,000 on Suri’s Christmas’

Katie Holmes has reportedly spent close to $50,000 on Christmas gifts for her six-year-old daughter Suri.

The former Dawson’s Creek star split from Suri’s father, Tom Cruise, earlier this year.

According to UK newspaper The Sun, Katie is making up for the break-up of their marriage by splurging on their little girl.

The publication reports Katie has purchased a Victorian playhouse with running water and electricity that costs over $24,200 and will be set up the luxury toy in the family garden.

Tom and Katie’s only child will also receive an iPad mini and a children’s version of a Mercedes Benz costing over $9,000, in addition to several items of designer clothes.

The former couple’s custody arrangement for the holiday season remains unknown.

However, Tom recently opened up about spending time with Suri and his two other children with ex-wife Nicole Kidman during the festive season.

"We have got lots of very special things planned," he told People magazine.

"We are all going to be together. I am looking forward to it."

Katie has not issued comment on the report.
