Angelina Jolie used her reported Christmas Day wedding to Brad Pitt as an opportunity to "reconnect" with his family.
The Hollywood power couple are rumoured to have tied the knot at fashion designer Donna Karan's Parrot Cay estate in the Turks and Caicos Islands over the holiday period.
Angelina and Brad's representatives are yet to confirm or deny the reported nuptials took place, but sources have started to come forward with information about the event.
It has been revealed that 37-year-old actress Angelina did not have two key family members present for her big day.
An insider has told how her father, 74-year-old actor Jon Voight, and her brother James Haven, failed to show up at the secluded beach residence where the ceremony was held.
"Instead Angelina spent time bonding with Brad's family," the insider told British magazine Grazia. "She hasn't always seen eye to eye with them, so it was the perfect time to reconnect."
Along with the couple's brood of six children, each of whom were reportedly accompanied by two nannies, a selection of close family was invited to join Angelina and Brad at the Caribbean getaway over Christmas.
Sources revealed that guests included Brad's parents William and Jane, his brother Doug, sister Julie, as well as Brad's niece Josie, who tweeted from the luxury property on Christmas Eve.
