Robert Pattinson is reportedly adamant he won't be "shackled" to Kristen Stewart while shooting his new movie.

The 26-year-old actor is appearing alongside Guy Pearce in The Rover, which will be filmed in Australia. There had been rumours Kristen might accompany her on/off beau Down Under, but he apparently now wants to go alone.

"Rob is adamant that he doesn't want to be shackled to Kristen while he's filming in Australia and has told her that he wants to be alone. His friends and family seem keen for him to be away from her, so he can gain perspective on the situation," an insider told Heat magazine. "Kristen crowding him is only going to make things worse."

The couple have been experiencing problems ever since Kristen admitted having an affair with married film director Rupert Sanders last year. They were thought to have got things back on track and were seen together as they promoted the final Twilight movie Breaking Dawn - Part 2 at the end of 2012.

However, it's been suggested Robert has still not forgotten the betrayal.

"It seems Rob was gritting his teeth throughout the final leg of promotion for Twilight," the source said. "There was no way they could have done it apart. But while the temporary union gave Kristen hope, the dust has settled and Rob has emerged, still hurt, and apparently not willing to forgive her."

Rumours the couple were still experiencing a rough patch surfaced after Robert attended the Golden Globe Awards on his own earlier this month. Although he was seen with Kristen at an after-party in Los Angeles, they didn't seem to be getting along well.

The 22-year-old actress is apparently having a hard time letting her beau go.

"Kristen had absolutely wanted to attend the Golden Globes alongside Rob, but it didn't happen," the insider said. "She and Rob apparently had a big argument over it. It seems the more he cools off, the more intense Kristen becomes. She begged him to say it's not over."
