Liberty Ross has filed for divorce from director Rupert Sanders, six months after he was photographed kissing Kristen Stewart.

The 34-year-old British model-and-actress filed annulment papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

TMZ reports that she is requesting joint custody of their two young children Skyla and Tennyson.

Liberty is asking for spousal support along with attorney fees while Rupert is also requesting joint custody.

Rupert, who directed Kristen’s film Snow White and the Huntsman, was snapped kissing the star in Hollywood last July.

Rupert and Liberty are said to have tried to work things out since the scandal which saw Kristen issue an emotional apology to her boyfriend, Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected,” she said in a statement.

“This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
