Katie Holmes 'too content to date'

Katie Holmes is reportedly reluctant to get into a serious relationship yet, as she is enjoying her “freedom”.

The 34-year-old actress has been single since splitting from her husband Tom Cruise last year. Although Katie has been romantically linked to a few guys in recent months, she hasn’t shown any real interest in dating. It has now been claimed that while the star would like to meet new people, she doesn’t feel ready to commit to another relationship.

“Katie’s in a dilemma, because she wants to date but is concerned where it could lead to from there,” a source told RadarOnline. “She’s worried that if she commits herself fully to another man, she will have to give up the freedom she’s enjoying so much at the moment. As a single woman, she has no one controlling her nowadays, telling her what to do or who to see and she absolutely loves it!”

Katie has been keeping busy since her divorce, having moved to New York City and appeared in a Broadway theatre production. The star seems to be settling into her life with daughter Suri on the east coast, and it was recently claimed Katie was considering enrolling in law school.

It has also been suggested that Katie is happy to take a break from Hollywood and spend more time with six-year-old Suri.

While she doesn’t feel prepared for a lengthy romance at the moment, it was recently rumoured that the star was seeking advice from a date doctor to help her "get her confidence back".

“She misses being with someone special to share experiences with and she doesn’t want to be alone for the rest of her life,” the source added. “Katie’s got Suri for the time being, and she is her best friend, but she does eventually want to find a man she can be that close with as well.

“She’s just a little nervous and cautious about relationships still right now.”
