Diane Lane reportedly signed her divorce filings on Valentine’s Day.

The 48-year-old Unfaithful star and 45-year-old Gangster Squad actor Josh Brolin announced plans to end their eight-year marriage on Thursday.

A representative for the couple told Us Weekly it was a mutual decision.

“Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage," the representative said.

Los Angeles County Superior Court documents obtained by TMZ reveal Diane filed for divorce on February 15, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

According to the Associated Press, the documents were signed by the actress one day prior on Valentine’s Day.
The legal date of separation is listed as February 13.

Diane also wants her name restored to Diane Lane after taking on her husband’s last name.

A source previously told Us the couple parted ways two months ago. Josh stepped out at the Los Angeles premiere of Gangster Squad last month without Diane.

The timeline of their split would coincide with Josh’s New Year’s Eve arrest in Santa Monica, California for public intoxication.

He was released from jail the following day after paying a $250 fine. Josh was not cited in the incident and no further action is expected in the case.

The couple have had problems in the past.

Four months after their August 2004 marriage the actor was arrested for spousal battery. The charges were later dropped.

He was also arrested in 2008 for fighting at a bar in Shreveport, Louisiana. He struck a plea deal with prosecutors in that case.

Diane and Josh do not share any children.

It will be the second divorce for both stars. The actress was married to actor Christopher Lambert from 1988 to 1994.
She has a 19-year-old daughter, Eleanor, from the relationship.

Josh was married to actress Alice Adair over the same time period. The couple had two children Trevor, 24, and Eden, 18.
