Harrison Ford will star in Anchorman 2 as a legendary newscaster.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy begins filming this month in Atlanta, Georgia with Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and Kristen Wiig.

Harrison previously played an anchorman in 2010 comedy Morning Glory alongside Rachel McAdams.

The film will be directed by Adam McKay who co-wrote the screenplay with Will.

Few details have emerged over the plot of the comedy sequel, which follows on from 2004 film hit Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

Anchorman 2 will be produced by Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick.

Meanwhile, Harrison is expected to reprise his role of Han Solo in the new Star Wars sequel films and has three films waiting for release.

The upcoming features include the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, thriller Paranoia and Ender’s Game, based on the science fiction novel by Orson Scott Card.

Anchorman 2 is slated for release at the end of the year.
