Ian Somerhalder: Women want too much

Ian Somerhalder has joked he’s tired of women “wanting his babies”.

The Vampire Diaries star has garnered the attention of fans thanks to his brooding dark looks in the popular show.

While he’s rumoured to be single since splitting with co-star Nina Dobrev, Ian is on the lookout for a lady who takes things slowly.

“I would be happy if a woman would just go for dinner with me, rather than wanting my babies straight away!” he is quoted as saying to German magazine Bravo.

The 34-year-old hunk is currently busy filming upcoming flick The Anomaly with Alexis Knapp and Luke Hemsworth.

He’ll also start work on the fifth series of The Vampire Diaries soon, but doesn’t let the constant travelling catch up with him

“I don’t even get jet lag anymore because I’m never in one place for long enough,” he laughed.

Besides managing his acting career, the star is also very involved in charity work.

Animals and the environment are his biggest passion.

“I’ve already collected more than six million dollars in donations to build a new animal shelter,” he smiled.

“It’s so important to mobilise people, because they are our future.”

Ian and Nina reportedly called time on their relationship last month but could be reunited on the red carpet of the Teen Choice Awards in August as they are both nominated for prizes.
