Pierce Brosnan is mourning the loss of his daughter.

The actor’s 41-year-old child passed away last week after battling ovarian cancer for three years.

Charlotte was in the company of her loved ones when she died.

"On June 28 at 2 p.m. my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life, having succumbed to ovarian cancer," the 60-year-old star tells People magazine. "She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and brothers Christopher and Sean."

Pierce praised the way she handled having the disease.

However he was clear about how devastated his family was about her death.

"Charlotte fought her cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this wretched disease will be close at hand soon," Pierce continued. "We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences."

Charlotte passed away in London, England and was the spouse of Alex Smith, who she has a 14-year-old daughter and eight-year-old son with.

Charlotte's mother, Cassandra Harris, died of the exact same illness in 1991.

She was married to Pierce at the time and when she was a teenager had lost her own mother to the same disease.
