Miss Piggy would never date someone who wasn't famous.

The piggy puppet was joined by her long term lover Kermit the Frog for a live interview on British radio.

The pair were tasked with helping listeners work through their personal problems by giving advice on different situations.

One caller wanted to know how she should go about dating a fictional TV character.

"She needs to become a huge international star herself, that's the easy road to take," Miss Piggy advised when she appeared on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show.

"No of course not," she snapped when Nick asked if she'd ever date a regular person. "That's just my point. She needs to become a superstar."

Kermit, her long suffering partner, seemed to agree with Miss Piggy's sentiments before being asked his own advice on a matter.

A listener wanted the green frog's tips about dealing with strong willed women.

"I find compliance plays a big role. You just comply. Simply comply, life goes well," Kermit explained, before asking Miss Piggy if that was the right answer.

Both Kermit and Miss Piggy are currently gracing the big screen in new adventure Muppets Most Wanted.

As well as starring some of the most recognisable Muppets, it also features a whole host of Hollywood A-Listers.

"Tina Fey was great. I worked with Ray Liotta and Danny Trejo," Kermit enthused.

The film centres around an international crime story, which sees a Kermit look-a-like involved with a European jewel-heist.

"Well I have to say that as an amphibian American I was quite oppressed in this film, I was treated as though I was a criminal. But it's part of the story. And it was fun!" Kermit laughed.

"We are very proud of this new film."
