Segel's mom doesn't like nude scenes

Jason Segel's mother cried and then sent out a mass email to her family after hearing he'd appeared nude in a film.

The 34-year-old actor famously stripped off for his role in 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall. He decided against telling his mother about the fully naked sequence before she watched it, leading to a pretty extreme reaction.

"She cried," he told Vanity Fair, adding she then sent a missive to his whole family saying, "I would like to inform you all that Jason has chosen to do full-frontal nudity, however, it is not gratuitous and is essential to the plot."

That remains the only time his mom Jillian has been forced to take such drastic action.

Jason opened up about many areas of his life in the interview, choosing to reveal a number of previously unknown details such as he has five or six coffees every morning then moves on to water once he starts to feel ill.

His eccentricities started when he was a child and became concerned that bad things might happen in his neighbourhood.

"Until the age of age of ten, he wore a Superman cape tied around his neck and covertly tucked underneath his clothes - just in case anything went awry in his Pacific Palisades, California, neighbourhood," the publication detailed.

The star grew up in Los Angeles and is still there now. He has a separate property where he writes, opting to keep his growing collection of puppets there too.

"I used to live in there,” he explained, “and then I realised that it was incredibly creepy to have visitors over, because I just looked like a total weirdo."
