Dakota Johnson suggests Valentine’s Day (14Feb16) makes people feel either “super-excited” or a little “drunk and angry”.
The 26-year-old actress is currently believed to be single, having previously dated musicians Noah Gersh and Matthew Hitt as well as actor Jordan Masterson, and has mixed feelings about the upcoming romantic holiday. From previous experience, Dakota claims Valentine’s Day (14Feb16) can leave you feeling very happy or incredibly low.
“I feel like you’re either super-excited to be getting presents because, let’s be honest, getting presents is the best,” she told Britain’s OK! magazine when asked if she is a fan of the annual holiday. “Or you’re just, like, drunk and a little angry!”
Dakota is currently promoting her new movie How to be Single, while her breakthrough film Fifty Shades of Grey was also released around this time last year (15). The actress insists she isn’t only interested in appearing in romantic movies, but enjoys watching them in February.
“I guess so, yeah,” she replied when asked if she likes watching films about love in the run-up to Valentine’s Day. “Going to the movies on Valentine’s Day is like a perfect thing to do. I think it’s only a coincidence that I have movies opening around Valentine’s Day, but it’s really bizarre.”
While Dakota’s stunning looks may have attracted admirers all over the world since she launched her career, the star insists she isn’t inundated with offers from men. Claiming she can count the number of times a guy has approached her “on one hand”, Dakota likes being in a relationship but prefers to find love the old fashioned way.
“No!” she laughed when asked if she’s ever used a dating website. “But my brother (actor Jesse Johnson) has this dating app called Raya. It’s, like, really exclusive and you have to be accepted. My brother started it with some other people, I have no idea how it works and I refuse to be a part of it!”
