Lindsay Lohan's father is adamant the actress is engaged to wed her new boyfriend, despite her representative recently denying the marriage reports.
The Mean Girls star hit headlines on 12 April (16) after multiple reports suggested Egor Tarabasov, 22, had proposed to Lindsay, and she said yes.
Her spokesman, Hunter Frederick, issued a statement hours later claiming "the story is untrue and holds no merit," but Lindsay continued to keep fans guessing that night when she attended a Duran Duran concert at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and showed off an emerald and diamond sparkler on her left ring finger.
The actress was joined by Egor, who she began dating less than a year ago, her parents Dina and Michael, and sister Ali, who cheered from the audience as Lindsay took to the stage to sing Danceophobia with frontman Simon Le Bon.
Lindsay has been keeping quiet about the status of her romance with Egor ever since, but now her father, Michael Lohan, has confirmed the couple is actually set to walk down the aisle.
"Let me put it this way: is she wearing a ring on her finger?" he asked tellingly during an appearance on U.S. talk show Access Hollywood Live on Friday (29Apr16). When co-hosts Kit Hoover and Billy Bush replied, "Yes", he responded, "Then is that indicative of an engagement?".
Billy then pushed Michael for a "yes or no", prompting the proud dad to say, "From what I understand as a father, yes she is engaged."
He then also revealed Lindsay's brother, Michael Lohan Jr., was also planning a wedding after proposing to his girlfriend of 10 years, Nina Ginz, "a couple of days ago".
Michael Sr. went on to suggest he had advised Lindsay to enjoy her engagement, instead of rush to exchange vows, like he and the actress' mother did.
"Dina and I were only engaged for six months before we got married," he explained. "We lasted for 19 years, but there was some turmoil..."
He also admitted he had had a chat with his future son-in-law, as Egor has a tendency to drive fast, but he really approves of Lindsay's new man.
Michael Sr. continued, "He speeds in a sports car like I do, with Lindsay in the car, like I did with Dina. We had a little talk about that...
"He's a really good guy, he's very grounded; he's good for her. He's not a drinker, he doesn't use drugs..."
Lindsay famously struggled with substance abuse during her days of hard partying, which led her to check in to a California rehab centre in 2013 to kick her habit once and for all after years of legal troubles.
She has since relocated to London, where she is currently living with Egor as she rebuilds her career.
