Britt Robertson made the most of every second of working with Julia Roberts, while trying not to "overwhelm" her.
The two women appear opposite each other in comedy Mother's Day, in which Britt plays the estranged daughter of Julia's character Miranda. Britt had already starred alongside big names including George Clooney and Chris Pratt before working with the Pretty Woman star, but still found herself in awe of Julia, 48.
"It was only like two or three days that we spent together," the 26-year-old recalled. "It was only two scenes and they work really fast on these films. So for me, I was just trying to make the most of every moment I had with her. But also not like overwhelm her or take up her space.
"So I was trying to be respectful and be like, 'Hey, I’m here to talk if you ever want to talk to somebody.' It was nice to have her open up to me many times where she would be super sweet..."
Julia even helped Britt with baby duty, as the younger actress' alter ego is a new mother in the movie. It wasn't too difficult though, as the blonde beauty admits she simply "bounced" the tot about and fed her to keep her happy, while reading up on books about motherhood.
One of the best parts for Britt about working on Mother's Day was teaming up with filmmaker Garry Marshall once again, after the director helmed her 2006 movie Keeping Up with the Steins.
"When I found out he was doing it a follow-up to Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve, I wanted to be a part of it," Britt gushed. "First of all, I worked with Garry when I was like 12, and he was the sweetest thing in the world. And the chance to work with him again... He’s a complete legend and I love the set and environment that he creates, so I just was excited to work with him again.
"And then when I found out Julia Roberts was going to be in the film and Kate Hudson and Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis, it was perfect."
