Lupita Nyong'o has let slip plot details for her new film Black Panther.

It was confirmed at Comic-Con San Diego over the weekend (23-24Jul16) that Lupita had been cast in the new Marvel movie as Nakia, joining director Ryan Coogler and actor Chadwick Boseman in the feature. Michael B. Jordan is also part of the line-up, with a release date slated for July 2018.

Talking to Marvel.com, Oscar-winner Lupita was happy to share the few details she knows about the film’s premise.

“The story of this Black Panther is - what am I allowed to say? – The story is that the Black Panther’s leadership is really threatened by two foes who come together, and so Black Panther gets the help of the C.I.A. and the Dora Milaje (Black Panther’s personal body guards) to try and defeat the enemy,” she revealed.

Michael’s character Erik Killmonger is one such foe. Avengers stars Andy Serkis and Sebastian Stan are also rumoured to be joining the cast, returning to the franchise as Ulysses Klaue / Klaw and Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier respectively.

Get on Up star Chadwick, who takes on the role of Black Panther, has also been speaking about the hotly anticipated film, admitting it only hit him at Comic-Con just how much the character means to fans.

“Obviously, I know how important it is, particularly for people of African descent,” he told io9.gizmodo.com. “In terms of seeing everybody’s response to it, all types of people have responded to me since Civil War came out. I’ll go certain places and they’ll come up to me and talk about the movie. But this is the first place where I’ve seen them all together - black people, Asian people, Latino people, middle-aged people, young people, old people… It’s something to see all in one spot. So, I’d definitely say yesterday was the first time it just hit me.”
