Actress Patricia Arquette has thanked fans for their support after the tragic death of her sister Alexis Arquette.
The Wedding Singer star passed away on 11 September (16) at the age of 47, and her immediate cause of death was cardiac arrest, according to her death certificate obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
However, she had suffered from a bacterial infection of the heart three weeks prior and the death certificate also revealed Alexis had been battling HIV for the past 29 years.
Her siblings David, Rosanna, Richmond and Patricia, who were with her when she died, issued a heartfelt tribute to their sister at the time and now Patricia has added her own sentiment on Twitter.
"Thank you all for your condolences and words of support and prayers for our family," Patricia wrote on Sunday (25Sep16). "If there is reincarnation I pray to God that you come back Lex (Alexis) into a family that loves you as much as we do."
Alexis, who had transitioned into a female in the early 2000s, is listed as a male on the death certificate and her full name, Robert Alexis Arquette, was also used in the paperwork, according to ET.
In the statement, her brothers and sisters called her "more than a sibling" and "our great teacher", and added, "As Alexis transitioned into being a woman, she taught us tolerance and acceptance. As she moved through her process, she became our sister, teaching us what real love is."
Patricia also took the time to send a message of condolence to Ronan Farrow on Sunday, after his brother Thaddeus committed suicide last week (ends18Sep16). The 27-year-old adopted son of actress Mia Farrow was found dead in his car after suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
"Sending love to your family," the Oscar winner touchingly wrote to Ronan.
