Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their first public appearance together at the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games on Saturday (23Sep17).

The 36-year-old Suits actress, who films the U.S. TV show in Toronto, attended the international Paralympic-style multi-sport event created by the 33-year-old prince as it opened in the Canadian city.

Although the couple weren't sitting side by side, Meghan was seated a few rows in front of her boyfriend and was seen supporting her boyfriend, smiling adoringly and clapping enthusiastically when he took to the stage to give his speech.

According to royal protocol, the couple aren't allowed to sit next to each other at official events unless they are formally engaged, but they were close enough to exchange looks during the ceremony.

Harry, who looked smart in a navy suit for the occasion, was accompanied in the V.I.P. box by First Lady Melania Trump, who he'd met earlier in the day.

The prince took to the stage to give an inspirational speech, telling the 550 athletes at the games, "you are all winners. You are Invictus!"

Earlier this month (Sep17), Meghan opened up to Vanity Fair magazine about her relationship with the prince.

"We're in love," she gushed. "I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It's part of what makes it so special, that it's just ours. But we're happy. Personally, I love a great love story."

Meghan and Harry met through mutual friends in July 2016, and were dating for around six months in secret before news of their romance broke.
