Sylvester Stallone will face off with Spanish actor Sergio Peris-Mencheta as he returns to the big screen for his latest Rambo sequel.
Life Itself star Peris-Mencheta, who has also become known for his role as wrestler-turned-drug enforcer Gustavo 'El Oso' Zapata in John Singleton's Snowfall drama series, has been tapped as the villain for Rambo 5: Last Blood.
He will play Hugo Martinez, the head of one of Mexico's most dangerous drug cartels, who finds himself at war with Stallone's mercenary John Rambo after he crosses into Mexico from America to help find the kidnapped daughter of a close friend, according to Deadline.com.
Actress Paz Vega will also feature in the action thriller, which is being directed by Adrian Grunberg from a script co-written by Stallone.
Production is currently underway in Bulgaria, where Stallone has been sharing onset photos with fans on Instagram.
"It's so rewarding after so many years in the Biz to be truly excited about being in an extraordinary scene. @rambomovie #rambo5," he captioned a close-up shot of himself wearing a Stetson in the rain, after posting another image of himself riding a horse.
The new adventure comes 10 years after Stallone last reprised his Vietnam vet character for 2008's Rambo.
He first featured as the movie tough guy in 1982's First Blood, and returned for Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III in 1985 and 1988, respectively.
Rambo isn't the only old franchise Stallone has been busy resurrecting - he is also enjoying the success of his Rocky spin-off Creed, which earned the 72 year old an Oscar nomination in 2016, and its upcoming follow-up, Creed II.
