Christian Bale has finally ended his bitter decade-long feud with his mother.
The Oscar winning actor reportedly fell out with his mum Jenny and sister Sharon hours before the U.K. premiere of his Batman movie, The Dark Knight in 2008.
Bale was accused of shoving his mother during the row at the Dorchester Hotel in London, as the pair argued about the actor's wife, Sibi. Police were called, and Bale was arrested but released without charge and his family withdrew their statements.
The former child star, who shot to fame in Steven Spielberg's 1987 drama Empire of the Sun, refused to speak to his family again.
Now, Jenny has revealed that she and her son have reconciled, and are working on their relationship after the decade-long feud.
The 45-year-old actor spoke with his mother while back in London for the BAFTAs, where he was up for Best Actor for his role as former U.S. vice president Dick Cheney in dark comedy, Vice.
Back in 2014, Jenny opened up about her heartbreak over the estrangement, and said she would queue up with fans at her son's movie premieres just to catch a glimpse of him as he never returned her calls.
"I have tried nearly every day to get back in touch," she said at the time. "I have been sending him emails regularly... It’s sad for me. It’s sad for him, too."
Watching her son's movies, including American Psycho and his turn as Batman in Christopher Nolan's superhero trilogy, was the only way she could ease her heartache.
“I have them all,” she said back in 2014. "Every one he’s made. Then sometimes Christian will come up on TV in one of his films. I’ll be flicking through the channels and suddenly there he is, looking at me from the TV. I think, ‘Oh God’ and carry on watching."
