Black Panther has landed 16 nominations for the 50th annual NAACP Image Awards.
The blockbuster, which is up for seven Oscars, will compete in a string of major categories on 30 March (19) when the winners are announced at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of people of colour in TV, music, literature and film.
Barry Jenkins' If Beale Street Could Talk is second among the film nominees with nine mentions.
Both movies will compete for Outstanding Motion Picture with BlacKkKlansman, Crazy Rich Asians, and The Hate U Give, and Outstanding Independent Motion Picture alongside BlacKkKlansman, Nappily Ever After, Sorry To Bother You, and Traffik, while Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman and If Beale Street Could Talk's Stephan James will compete for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture. Regina King (If Beale Street Could Talk) will fight for the Outstanding Supporting Actress honour with Black Panther trio Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, and Lupita Nyong'o.
Meanwhile, Boseman and Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and King will take on Beyonce and basketball superstar LeBron James for the Entertainer of the Year crown, and Black-ish leads all the TV nominations with eight and H.E.R. tops the music mentions with five.
