Pals fear Pete Davidson ‘still too vulnerable for romance with Kate Beckinsale’

Pete Davidson’s friends are reportedly concerned that the comic is not yet ready for another intense romance.

The 25-year-old Saturday Night Live star, who was engaged to Ariana Grande for three months last year (18), is said to be “besotted” with Underworld actress Kate Beckinsale, 45, and has been showering her with compliments and gifts, despite their 20-year age gap.

But the comic has been open about his struggles with borderline personality disorder, and raised fears when he posted a suicidal message to social media in the wake of his split with Ariana, leaving friends fearing that he is still very vulnerable.

“If Kate goes ahead and breaks his heart, or just decides she’s not interested, then God knows how he’ll react,” a source told Heat magazine.

“This is moving pretty quickly, which isn’t unusual for Pete. He’s a classic all or nothing character who falls in love very easily. But Kate’s friends are worried she’s going to eat him alive and, at the same time, she’s not doing herself any favours by dating someone who’s as vulnerable as Pete.”

The unlikely couple were first linked when she was spotted leaving his comedy gig in Los Angeles, hand-in-hand with the star in February, just months after his split from Ariana.

“When they’re on a date, he spends the entire time telling her how sexy she is,” explained the source. “Trouble is, people think she’ll get bored eventually and move on, like she always does. That’ll leave nursing a broken heart, because he always falls hard and fast like this – look at what happened with Ariana.”
