Serena Williams and Amal Clooney have reportedly been granted the honour of co-hosting the baby shower for Meghan, Duchess of Sussex during her visit to New York City.
The Duchess, who is expecting her first child with British royal Prince Harry, jetted to the Big Apple over the weekend (16-17Feb19) to mark the occasion with her closest gal pals, including Williams, Clooney, stylist Jessica Mulroney, fashion designer Misha Nonoo, and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.
The ladies kicked off the celebrations with a gathering at the luxury penthouse of The Mark Hotel on Tuesday (18Feb19), when initial reports suggested Meghan's baby shower would be held.
However, a source tells Tatler.com the actual bash will take place at the same location on Wednesday afternoon, with Serena and Amal among the main organisers.
The party is said to include a flower arranging lesson, and a delectable spread of desserts from top chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.
The tennis superstar will allegedly cover the costs for the event, which includes the $75,000 (£57,400) nightly fee for the two-floor penthouse suite, described as the largest in the U.S., with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and four fireplaces.
On the eve of the baby shower, Meghan had the opportunity to spend some quality time with Mulroney, Williams, and Soho House director Markus Anderson, stepping out for a dinner date at Ralph Lauren's Polo Bar restaurant in Manhattan, where they spent three hours catching up with one another, reports People.com.
Meghan is expected to depart New York to return to London on Wednesday night, before joining her husband Prince Harry on an official three-day tour of Morocco from Saturday (23Feb19).
The couple's baby is due this spring (19), ahead of its first wedding anniversary in May.
