AfriCine Films is pleased to announce its partnership with Thameside Theatre to program NOLLYFEST -a Nigerian/African film event recognizing the growing popularity of Nollywood, with a remit to bring Nigerian and African cinema to new audiences.

Cinema goers will have the chance to watch 3 Nigerian blockbusters and a collection of short films and animation, with something for the whole family. The 2-day event which takes place Fri 5th and Sat 6th August has a special FAMILY DAY on Sat 6th where families can enjoy a collection of African animation and cartoons followed by family movie COLOUR ME. The event is sponsored by top Nigerian fine dining experience 805 Restaurantswho will provide the authentic taste of Nigerian cuisine over the 2 days.

Event Running Order:

DAY 1 FRIDAY 5th AUGUST starts at 4pm with a collection of short films from the African diaspora which will be screened at 4:30pm.
6:30pm WHEN LOVE HAPPENS PG -Romantic Comedy Nigerian Box Office favourite, romantic comedy Cert: PG Starring; O.C Ukeje, Wale Ojo and Gideon Okeke. Directed Seyi Babatope.
8:30pm: SPECIAL PREVIEW SCREENING of 'STALKER'. Locals will be the first to see the latest Nollywood psychological thriller. Starring; Jim Iyke, Catherine Danjuma. Directed by Moses "Sneeze" Inwang.

DAY 2- SAT 6th AUGUST- FAMILY DAY WITH African animations/cartoons at 1:30pm followed by a premiere screening of feature film COLOUR ME at 4pm - starring Tina Mba, Bayray Mckwisu, Degri Emmanuel and Dayo Akinboro. Director Seun Arowojolu. Synopsis: A young boy learns the importance of education, even though the odds are against him. ENDS AT 6PM.
Nollyfest is run by Joy (Founder) and Maya (Director) who have been working in the arts industry for the last 15 years.
