Super Bowl L11 gave premieres to many trailers from the big film studios for this year’s blockbusters, from Red Sparrow to the upcoming Star Wars movie and everything else in between. However, there was really only one trailer that stood out. That trailer was for Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom. Nowadays, of course, it isn’t just live views that matter: it’s online views and social media buzz. It was those online views in which Jurassic World 2 fared phenomenally well.



Most watched trailer

Deadline reported a survey from ComScore that revealed each trailer’s online stats after debuting during the Super Bowl. While Avengers: Infinity War and Solo: A Star Wars Story received the most attention on social media, it was the trailer from Jurassic World 2 that scored the highest number of views.

The trailer received numerous shares on both Facebook and YouTube, and was watched 3.56 million times within a 12-hour period. It received 2.7 million Facebook views, with the remaining views coming from YouTube. Mission Impossible: Fallout ranked second, with 2.09 million views. The trailer for Jurassic World 2 has so far received 10.2 million views on the video sharing site. With its release not until June the 22nd in the US, there’ll certainly be at least one more trailer before the movie itself hits the big screen.

Jurassic love

Jurassic fans have been waiting for the next movie in the series with excitement and anticipation. In the meantime, however, they’ve been enjoying their favourite franchise in other ways. As well as the previous movies on DVD, of course, there are a series of graphic novels, as well as traditional novels, to keep them happy.

There’s the Jurassic Park board game, as well, which is based on the original movie and can entertain between 2 and 8 players. There’s also been a string of video games released, with Jurassic Park: The Game, Lego Jurassic World, and the online Jurassic World slot game among the most recent. While this may be great fun for fans, they won’t have to wait too much longer before they can find out what’s next in store for Pratt and co when they return in Jurassic World 2.

Record breaking

The excitement building around the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World is hardly surprising. The previous instalment in the franchise debuted in the no.1 position at the US box office, with $208 million- a record at the time, before it was broken by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the very same year.

The report further confirmed that the trailer for Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: infinity War received the most buzz of any other trailer that was aired during the Super Bowl. As well as Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Mission Impossible- Fallout, Skyscraper proved popular with viewers.
