Very much a winter institution now on Saturday 2 November Arrow Video FrightFest present their Halloween all day horror film festival. A marathon of six films that includes four UK premieres, one international and one European at the Cineworld Leicester Square.

The line-up is a solid mix of horror regulars Tony Todd in the Halloween flavoured Candy Corn and director Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry, My Bloody Valentine) with slasher Trick.

There’s newish director Marc Meyer’s moving from the strange and ghoulish My Friend Dahmer into out and out horror with We Summon the Darkness.

If your taste leans towards the more intricate there’s a deadly game to play in Uncanny Annie from director Paul Davis, part of the Into The Dark series. There’s the tantalising premise of Swallow that uses the conventions of the fairy tale to examine the effects of a male orientated culture on women from debut director Carlo Mirabella-Davis.

Closing the day is Scare Package which features eight filmmakers taking on horror’s various sub genres with a view to twisting them away from the mundane. As a bonus, there is also The Haunted Swordsman a unique and acclaimed short film featuring large scale puppets by Kevin McTurk.

The all-important ticket details are Day passes (£47) and single tickets (£14.50) and are on sale now.
