The erectile dysfunction problem David suffers from is about to get cured. The problem is the cure has come from his new partners Alice investigation into the swinging community. Group sex, kinky sex, bondage and more will mix with the faceless masses and the new partners will desire them as much as they desire each other.

A tender, clever film has to be admired and respected. Swung is one of those films that is a truly brilliant in its performances, philosophy and power. Sex involving swingers can be treated as comical, seedy or nasty but here it is treated as a topic to be explore via a couples entry into it. Director Kennedy has found his centre of interest and in this centre, a great film has flourished. Sophisticated and funny but also balanced by a tenderness for his characters. The clever minimal use of sexual stimulation, the distance of the camera and the painting of a family life all add to this. The actors are amazing and Owen McDonnell and Elena Anaya, give the couple a reality that makes the film flow and you care about where it is going. Then the score is amazing and reminded me of Thomas Newman the sculpture of the emotional state. Here it is used to make the film structured and the leads placed into this realm.

On the negative side the only problems I can find are the disc itself (empty of anything of want) and the obsession of soft focus camera work. It dulls the senses and these senses are sadly missed from such a great film. Little to really complain about and Kennedy deserves much respect for making such a good film.
