Retroactive

In middle of America, a top secret research base is exploring time travel. The scientist at its helm records the event for the first time travel adventure. Frank is travelling along with his wife and is a real piece of work. His wife Rayanne is a softer edged woman and acts as the silent majority. Frank will create problems and his problems will increase when Karen is offered a ride to the nearest services. She is stuck in the middle of the deserts after her car broke down and they are her passage to safety. Sadly it seems Frank is going to unleash hell and no one will be safe.

The 90s and the low to mid budget action films of that decade are great films that are worth revisiting. Seen from me the first time directors and genre films came to the fore because the studios felt a trend and felt a buck to be made. So often films became built on an actor with presence and power to succeed and make the studio gamble pay off. This is a film built on Belushi. He gives us a wired, crazed centre but also a whirlwind of performance. His presence holds the film together, It does have the tendency to occasionally push it over into absurd or at least a lesson in psychological venting for anger, frustration and personal issues by an actor. Never fear though, it still has enough in the bag to keep it comedic enough to build bridges. Has violent pieces to please the audience and keep the flow going and even in places it has intellegence and ideas.Basically it is so representative of the 90s cinema, great ideas which are loose in execution but still grand in employment.

Now the disc you are given for your dough is not filled with goodies but it has a delightful package and its not expensive. So in the words of my former PE teacher when we were to take a penalty kick….’What you waiting for….’
