Jeff Beck is considered one of the most innovative and original guitar players of his generation, ‘Still On The Run The Jeff Beck Story’ tells the tale of his career journey from meeting Jimmy Page in his teens, through to the Yardbirds, the Jeff Beck Group and his many solo albums. The documentary explores his unique style and influence on a host of musicians, making it clear he wouldn’t compromise on quality or image throughout his career.

The film also shows him at home in his workshop restoring his many American hot rod cars, a lifelong obsession that he continues to this day.

The list of contributors the documentary is extremely impressive and shows the impact he’s had on the industry, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Jimmy Page, Joe Perry, Slash, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Wood and Chrissie Hind to name just a few. Some of the names on that list were actually present at the screening and after show party I attended, again showing how respected Beck is to his contemporaries.

Overall the film conveys a unique musical talent who created his own style and wouldn’t compromise along the way. Jeff Beck is a true original, a musician’s musician and for any Beck fan the film is a must see.
