Aaron Paul has compared filming his latest movie to being in a "giant toilet bowl".

The Breaking Bad actor stars in Exodus: Gods and Kings alongside Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton. The Ridley Scott biblical-inspired epic features some majestic scenes including a battle sequence with a wall of waves either side of the cast.

"I think when we were parting the Red Sea was a time I will never forget. It's just such an epic crazy thing," the 35-year-old told Collider. "It was in the Canary Islands - gorgeous - and the sea and how they were creating the current to move it actually looked like the sea was being pulled out. They had like 20 jet skis lined up in a row just creating currents."

Aaron stars as Joshua in the production, who is seen as Moses' assistant. While he enjoyed watching the production team at work, there was one element of the battle scene that wasn't as pleasant.

"[There was] thousands of extras all looking very biblical, lots of camels pooping everywhere, because they were terrified," he recalled. "But it was creating a giant toilet bowl that we were all walking through all day long for days and days. It was disgusting. I couldn't help but dry heave."

Despite the retching, Aaron was thrilled to work with acclaimed director Ridley, describing him as "a legendary director" and "a legendary man". But he couldn't help but joke about how disappointed he was with having some of his scenes cut.

"There's a lot of stuff of me riding my horse that didn't make the movie that I was very upset about but it's all good," he laughed. "I loved my horse so much and I never really knew how to ride a horse before jumping on to this film and then by the end of it I really knew how which was great."
