Jessica Alba’s business The Honest Company has been valuated at $1 billion.

The 34-year-old actress-and-entrepreneur and her partner Chris Gavigan founded the venture in 2012 with the intention of providing toxin-free household goods and baby products.

Jessica is the cover girl on the latest issue of Forbes magazine and her face is accompanied by a headline which dubs her as ‘America’s Richest Self-Made Woman’.

According to the publication, Jessica’s personal net worth is $200 million, which means she has amassed a greater fortune than her entertainer peers Rihanna, Katy Perry and Jennifer Lawrence.

In the first year of The Honest Company’s launch the business earned $10 million in revenue, but in 2015 the enterprise is expected to take in earnings of $250 million. The Honest Company has now been valuated at $1 billion and Jessica couldn’t be happier about the estimation.

"If we really want to make a difference in the world and people’s health, it’s billions and billions of dollars, not just one," Jessica, who is mother to daughters Honor six, and Haven, three, told the publication of her business intentions. "I felt like my needs weren’t being met as a modern person. I want beautiful design like everybody else. But it shouldn’t be premium-priced, and it should, of course, be safe... I kind of want them to be cute, and the natural diapers: Why do they have to look like your baby’s wearing a brown bag?"

The Sin City: A Dame to Kill For actress went on to explain she is honoured to provide "unquestionably safe, eco-friendly, beautiful, convenient, and affordable” products to consumers via The Honest Company.
