Amal Clooney is apparently finding it hard to adjust to her celebrity status.

Before she became the wife of A-lister George Clooney, Brit Amal worked as a high powered human rights lawyer. While she continues with her career, she now also has to juggle press intrusion and showbiz events with work.

"Amal has a stressful career; the cases she works on are hugely important - but it's actually the less meaningful things that are really making life a challenge for her right now," a source told British magazine Grazia. "She says she can handle the job stress because that's what she knows, but this whole celebrity thing, it's just much harder.

"There's no denying she's been thrust into the celebrity spotlight. Of course it's a concern for George, who always tells Amal that she doesn't need to stress out," another insider commented.

George and 37-year-old Amal tied the knot in a lavish Italian ceremony in September, surrounded by family, friends and famous faces.

George, 53, is particularly close to A-list pair Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, with Rande also being his business partner. The couples spent a New Year's break together in Mexico, but friends of Amal say occasions like this make her realise how much her life has changed in the past year.

"It wouldn't be surprising if it had hit home to Amal just how much she is moving in different circles. Before she met George, she spent most of her time with middle-aged lawyers in London. We're worried, as Amal is looking increasingly gaunt," the source said.
