Amal Clooney’s aunts “fangirled” over her new husband.

The 36-year-old lawyer-and-activist married actor George Clooney in a fancy Italian ceremony on September 29, after being engaged since April.

And it seems her family took quite a liking to the famous 53-year-old.

"A group of women were fangirling over him," a source told Us Weekly.

George has enjoyed a life in the limelight thanks to his big screen success. Amal, who has since dropped her maiden name Alamuddin, hails from Lebanon and grew up in London, with a regular family outside of show business.

Apparently, George’s fame was all too much for the brunette’s relatives to take.

"One started singing 'Georgie Porgie, puddin' and pie. Kissed the girls and made them cry,'” the insider went on, adding she "raved about getting a peck from George."

The nuptials took place in the city of Venice, in front of their friends and family. Famous guests included Matt Damon, Emily Blunt and Cindy Crawford.

Amal went on to take the Clooney name as her own.

"A lot of people wondered if Amal would take George's name because she's such a strong, successful woman in her own right. But it's precisely because she's so secure in her own position that she's not precious about her surname,” an insider recently told British magazine Grazia. “She loves George and is proud to be his wife. Why hide that'"

The couple are now expected to start their lives together with homes in both England and America. They will also spend time in their luxury Italian villa, in Lake Como.
