Arterton ‘headed for divorce’

Gemma Arterton has reportedly split from her husband, Stefano Catelli.

The Bond girl began dating Italian Stefano in 2009 and the couple married the following year.

Gemma showed up solo to a BAFTA party for Silver Linings Playbook in London on Friday night.

A friend is said to have revealed at the event Gemma has decided to call it quits.

“It’s said, but her marriage is over,” the insider told MailOnline.

The break-up is said to have been amicable. But the source said the actress is devastated.

“Gemma thought Stefano was the one. He really wore the trousers in the relationship, such was her devotion to him. It happened a couple of months ago,” the friend continued.

According to the website, the actress will be avoiding high-profile events at London Fashion Week they were both scheduled to attend.

Gemma shot to fame in 2008 playing Bond Girl Strawberry Fields opposite Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace and has gone on to become one of Hollywood’s brightest stars.

She married Stefano the following year in an intimate ceremony in Spain. She admitted shortly thereafter she never planned to wed because she had grown up surrounded by divorced couples, including her parents.

“I never saw successful marriages, so I always thought it was a pointless thing to do,” she told Glamour magazine, contemplating, “But when I met Stefano, I just understood why you get married. Instantly. You become the same thing and you just grow together."

The actress has yet to issue comment on the report.
