Birdman has been nominated for 13 Critics' Choice Awards.
The movie stars Michael Keaton as a former superhero movie actor who is desperate to be taken seriously, so brings a play to Broadway. It had been widely tipped as a frontrunner during awards season and has already proven that, taking home a plethora of nominations at the SAG and Golden Globe Awards.
Those in the running for the Critics' Choice gongs were announced this morning, with Birdman leading the way. Following it is The Grand Budapest Hotel with 11 nods and Boyhood, which picked up eight.
Among those Birdman is in the running for is the prestigious best picture prize, with The Grand Budapest Hotel and Boyhood also getting mentions. Rounding out the category is Gone Girl, The Imitation Game, Nightcrawler, Selma, The Theory of Everything, Unbroken and Whiplash.
Michael has picked up another best actor nomination, with Benedict Cumberbatch for The Imitation Game, Ralph Fiennes in The Grand Budapest Hotel, Jake Gyllenhaal for Nightcrawler, David Oyelowo in Selma and The Theory of Everything's Eddie Redmayne also up for the prize.
The ladies version will go to either Jennifer Aniston, Marion Cotillard, Felicity Jones, Julianne Moore, Rosamund Pike or Reese Witherspoon.
Birdman's Edward Norton could take home the best supporting actor prize, with Josh Brolin, Robert Duvall, Ethan Hawke, Mark Ruffalo and J.K. Simmons competing.
The superhero satire boasts another nomination in the women's version of the award, with Emma Stone up for the prize. She will need to beat off stiff competition from the likes of Patricia Arquette, Jessica Chastain, Keira Knightley, Meryl Streep or Tilda Swinton.
Also of note is the best director category, which sees two women nominated: Angelina Jolie for Unbroken and Ava DuVernay for Selma. They are joined by Wes Anderson for The Grand Budapest Hotel, David Fincher for Gone Girl, Alejandro González Iñárritu for Birdman and Richard Linklater for Boyhood.
The Critics' Choice Awards will be held at the Hollywood Palladium on January 15 - the same day the Oscar nominations will be announced.
