Danny Boyle might reunite with Leonardo DiCaprio in a new biopic about Steve Jobs.

The Slumdog Millionaire director teamed up with the Wolf of Wall Street actor in 2000 adventure-drama The Beach.

And according to The Hollywood Reporter, Danny and Leonardo may join forces once again in an as-yet untitled biographical picture about the late Apple co-founder for Sony Pictures. Apparently the studio has entered talks with the director to replace David Fincher as the helmer, after he left the project earlier this month.

It is claimed Danny approached Leonardo to star as the computer genius shortly after negotiations with Sony commenced.

But it is unknown whether Leonardo can actually accept the role, as he is currently slated to begin filming New Regency’s thriller The Revenant with director Alejandro González Iñárritu in September.

Scott Rudin will produce the forthcoming Steve Jobs flick with Film 360’s Guymon Casady and Mark Gordo.

The script is being penned by Aaron Sorkin, writer of 2010 hit The Social Network, and the screenplay is based on author Walter Isaacson’s best-selling book. The feature is expected to reach theatres in 2016.

News of Leonardo’s potential casting in the Steve Jobs film has emerged just under a week after the star allegedly asked a judge to throw out a defamation lawsuit against him over 2013 feature Out of the Furnace.

Seventeen members of the Ramapough Lunaape Nation, a tribe residing in North America’s Ramapo Mountains, sued the actor and others involved in the film in January, claiming they were defamed when the movie’s villain referred to them as “inbred mountain folk from Jersey”.
