Braff splits from girlfriend

Zach Braff has split from his girlfriend of five years.

The 39-year-old Scrubs actor had been dating model Taylor Bagley since 2009.

But a spokesperson for the star told New York Post’s PageSix the couple have called it quits.

“Zach and Taylor broke up over a month ago. They are continuing their friendship but are no longer a couple,” the representative said.

A source told the gossip column’s editors the couple split just before the April 10 opening of his musical Bullets Over Broadway. While Zach’s rep declined to elaborate further on the decision, she said the actor is focused on his work.

“Zach has been attached to the [show] and involved with its development for over two years. He chose to do it because it has been a lifelong dream of his to be a part of a Broadway musical,” the rep said.

Zach’s relationship with Taylor was thrust into the spotlight back in 2011. The star’s old website was hacked and an open letter was posted in which he appeared to announce he was “an open member of the homosexual community”.

Zach, who previously dated Mandy Moore, took the opportunity to clarify his sexuality as well as to mention his passion for musical theatre.

“My old website got hacked. Someone issued a ‘coming out’ statement on my behalf,” he told TMZ at the time, adding, “I'm still straight and in love with my girlfriend. But not too straight; I still love musicals, brunch and Doogie Howser.”
