(Cover) - EN Movies - The new Bridget Jones movie has reportedly been put on hold due to script issues.

Last year, it was reported that author Helen Fielding was working on a third book in the popular series as well as a script for the third movie. However, it has now been suggested that the picture is facing another setback.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that according to “multiple sources close to the production” the creative team wants the movie to be delayed.

Insiders claim the project is “basically dead” and that Hugh Grant has been “especially vocal” about his dislike for the script and is having doubts about the film.

Other sources are confident that it can be saved and "the movie will definitely shoot sometime this year".

Cameras were originally scheduled to begin rolling in the next month.

Renée Zellweger is still believed to be determined to reprise her role as the title character, while Colin Firth and Hugh Grant have both expressed their interest in another movie.

It was previously reported that the latest instalment would see Bridget and her husband Mark Darcy – played by Colin - struggle to have a baby. Bridget then has a fling with Hugh’s character Daniel Cleaver and ends up getting pregnant.

Paul Feig was set to direct the film, but pulled out in October last year, and was replaced by British filmmaker Peter Cattaneo.
