Caity Lotz thinks her character in The Machine could take the Terminator.

The 27-year-old actress stars as Ava in the sci-fi thriller, about computer scientists who create artificial intelligence machines for the military. As a robot, the actress thinks she would be able to match up to some of the most iconic creatures in the genre.

"Any of them - just take them all," she answered examiner.com when asked who she'd like to fight. "I really think the machine in this film is pretty cool compared to the Terminator and stuff like that. It’s different. And I think it’s different because she’s the most emotional out of all of them. In a fight, I feel like I don’t know - Terminator’s pretty badass."

The actress will celebrate her 28th birthday on December 30 this year. She gets two weeks off filming over Christmas but still finds it can be tricky to have a big party.

"I usually have a party on the 29th, because nobody wants to party on the 30th, because the next night is New Year’s Eve. So, I always have my birthday party on the 29th and do it that way. But it does kind of suck," she sighed. "I need a birthday six months after Christmas. That’s when you’re like, 'Oh, I need my parents to buy me some presents.'"

Caity's CV includes horror film The Pact and television series Arrow. She might be on the big screen now, but the star began her career as a dancer - which wasn't always an easy ride.

"I started working as a dancer, when I was about 17. And I have a pretty bad Vegas story, when I was 18 years old," she recalled. "I’m showing up to rehearsal, and the people took me out to somewhere. And I swear, I was drugged or something, because I was so sick the next day. I was 18 years old, and in Vegas, and we had dance rehearsals the next day. And I was so sick, I couldn’t even… it was so embarrassing. It was the first day of rehearsal, and, of course, the 18-year-old in Vegas is super hungover. I swear, I think I was drugged or something, because it was so bad."
