Nick Cannon will be “friends for life” with Mariah Carey.

The American TV presenter confirmed his separation from the We Belong Together singer in August after six years of marriage. But while rumours have since arisen that the pair are still ‘friends with benefits’, Nick has gone on record to say it’s simply not the case.

“We are friends but we will be friends for life,” he told BBC Radio 1Xtra host Charlie Sloth during an appearance on his show.

The 34-year-old was asked to be honest about his past through a lie detector test, and the subject soon turned to Nick’s conquests before he married the singer. When Charlie asked if he had ever done a “ting” with one of the Kardashian sisters, Nick had nowhere to hide.

“Yes. And I always get in trouble when I talk about this but I always tell the truth so… The ones that are of age,” he replied, before Charlie pressed for more details and led him to tease, “The OG Kardashian.”

Nick, who has twins Monroe and Morocco with his estranged wife, first spoke about his fling with the reality star back in March during an appearance on another radio show, Power 106. Host Big Boy was shocked by the star’s celebrity sex list, but the Drumline actor was quick to make a joke about it.

“You just forgot because there have been a lot of people since me,” he laughed. “She's a great girl though. Her family are some of the most incredible people I ever met in my life.”

The pair briefly dated from September 2006 until January 2007. The 34-year-old is now married to rapper Kanye West and the couple has one daughter together, North West.
