Actress Cara Delevingne embraces her inner child by starring in movies like Pan.

The former model takes on the role of Mermaids in the film, which is based on classic kids' tale Peter Pan. She also starred in teen flick Paper Towns and admits her choice of projects is a chance for her to stay in touch with her youthful side.

"I think it does," the 23-year-old star admitted to Britain's OK! magazine when asked if acting allows her to embrace her inner child. "It allows me to indulge my sense of feeling liberated when you can throw yourself into the world of another person. Whenever I start work on a new film I feel like I'm able to create this world for myself and start a new adventure. I remember how much I enjoyed travelling to new places when I started modelling, and acting is a much more intense and enjoyable way of experiencing that."

Pan also stars Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard and Levi Miller as the boy himself. Despite it being a children's book, it's a story that resonates very much with Cara.

"I love Peter Pan," she gushed. "He's a character I've always loved because I think it's wonderful to be able to keep one's childish side. There are many 50 year olds I've gotten to know well and they often act younger than me in many ways."

Cara is known for her infectious personality and has been praised by Paper Towns director Jake Schreier for bringing the room to life. And the star knows she has a mischievous side, even when working.

“I like to be goofy. I like to make people laugh. I like to have a good time as much as possible,” she previously admitted to Time magazine.
