Cara Delevingne and Michelle Rodriguez reportedly got Cannes organisers working hard to make sure they were nowhere near each other.
The two stars were linked romantically last year, and were thought to have parted ways in June.
Cara is now said to be dating musician St. Vincent, real name Anne Clark, but faced an awkward encounter at the Cannes Film festival last week as Michelle was also at an event they attended.
"It was definitely a tricky situation. Organisers knew the day before that all three were attending and worked hard to ensure they all arrived separately. They were told that the two camps must not under any circumstances turn up at the same time and that they needed to be seated away from one another," a source told British magazine Grazia.
"Thankfully Cara and [Anne] arrived way before Michelle and they made a swift exit not long after she got there."
Cara and Michelle were thought to have dated for around six months in 2014, with many reporting how intense the relationship was. There was even talk about moving in together. After splitting, Michelle was said to be romancing Zac Efron.
There was talk that Cara was hooking up with Jack O'Connell, but she's happily been taking Anne with her to numerous social engagements over the last few months.
However another insider says Michelle wasn't totally OK with seeing her ex in the arms of another.
"Michelle arrived for the after party and almost immediately saw Cara and [Anne] kissing in the corner. Cara and [Anne] left quite soon after. She may have split with Cara a while ago, but Michelle was still upset to see them together," the second source said.
