Cat Deeley expecting first child

Cat Deeley is pregnant.

The So You Think You Can Dance host announced that she and her Irish comedian husband Patrick Kielty are expecting their first child together in a touching Twitter post on Friday.

“Exciting news.... Paddy and I are so happy to be expecting our first child in the Spring..... Lucky us,” Cat, 38, wrote.

Patrick recently opened up about his hopes of starting a family with his stunning wife.

"I hope any child we might have has Cat's looks and my accent," he told the Birmingham Mail in an interview.

"With our two strong accents, we basically needed subtitles or a UN translator."

Cat and Patrick married in a secret ceremony in Rome, Italy, in 2012 after their professional relationship turned romantic.

They first met back in 2002 while working on TV show Fame Academy.

Speaking previously about how Patrick surprised her on her birthday to make his feelings clear, Cat explained: “There had always been a bit of a 'thing' between us, but it was never the right place, right time, so nothing ever happened.

“Then it was my birthday and he called from Ireland to say hello and to ask what I was doing.

"I told him I was going to the Beverly Hills Hotel for Sunday brunch, so he flew from Ireland to London, from London to LA, got a cab from the airport, dropped his bags with the concierge at the hotel, and walked into the restaurant. No-one does that stuff anymore!”
