(Cover) - EN Movies - Jackie Chan is booked to take part in the Toronto International Film Festival.
The 59-year-old actor and martial artist has been invited to be a special guest at the festival’s cultural showcase A Century of Chinese Cinema next month.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Hong Kong-born actor will be at TIFF’s Bell Lightbox & Festival Tower June 12-17.
Jackie is expected to “participate in talks, panels and mentorships associated with the landmark collaboration between TIFF, the China Film Archives, the Hong Kong film Archives and the Chinese Taipei Film Archives”, the outlet reports.
TIFF describes itself as “a charitable cultural organization with a mission to transform the way people see the world through film”.
Approximately 80 Chinese, Hong Kong and Taiwanese films will be shown at the event. An art exhibition featuring the work of several prominent Chinese artists will also be on display.
Other attendees will include Hong Kong action star Johnnie To, Chinese director Chen Kaige and Film Workshop executive director Nansun Shi.
The Toronto International Film Festival will run June 5-August 11.
Jackie is currently in pre-production for his next film, Sam Fell action comedy Skiptrace.
He is also rumoured to have joined the cast of Sylvester Stallone’s forthcoming action sequel The Expendables 3 and Willie Grady’s action-packed follow-up Rush Hour 4.
