Channing Tatum has been reunited with his imaginary friend.

When he was a child, the Magic Mike star had an invisible friend called Boy. As a special treat, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel decided to surprise the actor by jokingly "inviting" his pal along.

Always a good sport, Channing took the joke well, offering Boy a seat and asking him how he'd been. He also put up with some stick about his less-than-original name.

"I don't know, I can't remember how old I was, but Boy was his name," Channing shared with the audience and his host.

"That's what he said his name was, so I went with it; I didn't question it."

Strangely, Boy had a weak spot for peanut butter sandwiches with Cheetos chips squashed into them. This meant Channing, now 34, was able to ask his mom for the bizarre snack combination and claim it was for his invisible pal.

During the skit, Jimmy even offered to get Boy one of the sandwiches for old times' sake. However, Channing joked to leave out the Cheetos, as his imaginary friend is watching his weight.

These days, the star is more likely to have to put up with his daughter's strange habits. Channing and his wife Jenna have 19-month-old Everly and she's very much a part of their lives - even her dad's work for upcoming flick Magic Mike XXL.

"She came to rehearsals, which is really fun. We were like, ‘Daddy’s doing gymnastics!’” Jenna laughed recently, referring to the comedy about a group of male strippers.

Channing joked to ET with a wink: “Yeah, it’s just a little gymnastics session, babe, don’t worry…”
