Channing Tatum declares Magic Mike XXL a "stripper odyssey".

The beefed up actor will be back playing stripper Mike in 2015, three years after the original fun flick.

Channing, along with co-stars Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Adam Rodriguez, is currently filming the movie, uploading various on-set shots to social media sites and getting fans into a frenzy.

"This is a road trip movie. It's an odyssey, we like to call it. It's like The Iliad. It's a stripper odyssey," Channing grinned to ET.

While 34-year-old Channing may play the lead stripper, True Blood's Joe is also very much lusted after in the movie. Channing himself is a big Joe fan, heaping praise on the rugged star's dance moves.

"It is terrifyingly unreal when he dances. My mouth is on the floor the whole time. He's going to blow people's minds in this movie," he gushed.

Joe's also been showing off his moves to real life girlfriend Sofía Vergara, who's been lucky enough to have been on the receiving end of a few private dances.

"She has seen the routines... She's seen them that's all I can say," Joe smiled.

"Six male entertainers, driving in a food truck up and down the coast. Sure yeah you can get in a lot of trouble that way," he added.

It wasn't all fun and games though, with the core cast having to radically overhaul their diets in order to hone their physiques.

"We're all killing ourselves diet-wise. And that's not to be sexy on stage, that's just so you don't get fat. And it's misery. Misery loves company and we're all sort of looking at each other like, 'One more week, one more week, and then we can have carbs again,'" Channing revealed.

"There are no stand-ins. There's no stunt doubles, there's no body doubles. It's all 100 per cent us."
