Charlize: I’d be open to another baby

Charlize Theron never wanted to limit herself to just one child.

The 39-year-old actress adopted son Jackson, now three, back in 2012. Now she is in a happy relationship with fellow actor Sean Penn, she says she would definitely consider the prospect of further extending her family.

“I mean, I’m so open to anything in my life,” Charlize replied when asked if she would like another baby during an interview with US TV show Extra. “I was never like, ‘Oh god just one,’ I was always kind of open to whatever kind of happens.”

Charlize and Sean started dating in early 2014 after an 18-year friendship.

As well as a personal relationship, the pair have started a professional one as well, working on the upcoming movie The Last Face.

Charlize stars in the film, while Sean is behind the camera directing. And Charlize says working with her beau was something she has wanted to do for a long time.

“The story of The Last Face is really, at its core, just a beautiful love story, so to do that with somebody you’re in love with, there’s something really powerful in that.

“It could also make it very, very difficult yeah, but that’s good, that’s not a bad thing, because it makes you really explore all of it, you know.”

Before The Last Face is released, Charlize can next be seen in Mad Max: Fury Road, alongside Tom Hardy in the lead role.

The film follows on from the franchise starring Mel Gibson as Max. And Charlize, who plays Imperator Furiosa in the movie, admits she was entirely unprepared for just how much work was involved in the shoot.

“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in twenty years, I think it was the technical aspect of it, how long the shoot was,” she said. “It was a harsh environment to be in for that long.”
